The Legality Of Internet Casinos In Other Countries

If you have ever tried playing in internet gambling casinos from the United States, you probably already have a fair idea of the legal ramifications of your activities. There are a few laws in place that restrict gambling activities on Internet casinos, although some gamblers do take advantage of a few legal loopholes that exist.

The situation is different in other countries such as the United Kingdom, where Internet casinos are generally allowed, although laws regulating them were passed in 2004.

Sports betting is also widespread in Great Britain and is under regulation by the government. In addition, many large multinational corporations–among them British Sky Broadcasting and the Virgin Group of companies are heavily involved in various Internet gambling activities including Internet casinos. In recent years, Britain has also made it much easier for entrepreneurs to start online sportsbook companies, subject to certain minimum capital requirements. The relatively favorable climate for Internet casinos in the United Kingdom has made many Internet casinos consider moving their operations there or start up Internet casinos there.

The situation is much the same in Europe, where both the European Union and the E.U. commission–which is acknowledged as the “Federal Government” of Europe–both support online casinos, seeing them as representative of free trade.
